Are specific skills required to take part in the heliski experience?
Yes, to take part in heliski tours, adequate off piste skiing skills are required. Each experience has specific technical requirements, detailed in the program under the “Requirements” section. For private groups, each participant’s skiing level is assessed individually to ensure a safe and well balanced experience for everyone.
How can I tell if my level is suitable for heliskiing?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions. Many skiers and snowboarders find it difficult to accurately assess their own abilities. A good level of skiing or snowboarding on groomed slopes and some basic off piste experience are required. You do not need to be a professional, but it is important to feel comfortable on variable terrain and in unprepared snow conditions.
What type of groups is the heliski experience carried out in?
Heliski experiences take place in small groups, with a maximum of 4 participants, to ensure safety, quality and a personalized approach. Dedicated programs are also available, such as “My First Heliski Day”, designed for those who wish to approach this discipline and enjoy a first guided experience in a gradual and controlled way.
Is the heliski experience safe?
Yes. Safety is a top priority: alpine guides are highly qualified, often holding international certifications, and manage every aspect of the outing by carefully assessing weather conditions, snow stability and avalanche risk. Working with experienced professionals and in small groups significantly increases overall safety.
How is my level assessed before taking part?
For private groups, the skiing or snowboarding level of each participant is assessed individually by our certified alpine guides. This helps define suitable itineraries and ensures an experience aligned with the technical abilities of each person.
What is the advantage of taking part in a small group?
Our experiences take place in groups of up to 4 people. Small group sizes allow alpine guides to better focus on each participant’s technical needs and safety, providing a more personalized and higher quality experience.
