This half day tour takes you to explore the historic Cogne Mines, one of the most important mining sites in the Alps, now accessible through guided routes inside the mountain. After the visit, the experience continues with a traditional agriturismo lunch, where you can taste local Aosta Valley cuisine in a setting surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, you can complete the tour with a walk to the spectacular Lillaz Waterfalls, one of the most famous natural attractions in the region, located within the Gran Paradiso National Park.

Departure on foot from Cogne towards Costa del Pino. The route follows a panoramic trail immersed in nature, with open views over the valley.

Arrival at the mining site and meeting with the guide at the Cogne Mines.

10:30 – 12:30
Guided tour inside the mine: entry with helmet and headlamp, a section by mining train, walk through the tunnels, and visit to the former powder magazine, now used for wine aging.

Around 12:30
Exit from the mine and free time. Possibility to enjoy a light snack outdoors, right in front of the entrance, in a panoramic spot with mountain views.

13:30 – 14:00
Walk back down to Cogne along the same trail.

14:30 – 15:00
Arrival at the agriturismo and lunch with a fixed menu (starter, first course, main course and dessert, drinks not included), based on local products and Aosta Valley cuisine. Please inform us in advance of any dietary requirements or allergies.

Possibility to continue the day with a walk to the Lillaz Waterfalls, easily accessible and perfect for relaxing in nature.


Alternative for non hikers
For those not used to mountain walking or in the presence of guests with reduced mobility, it is possible to replace the hike with a visit to the Cogne Mining Museum, located just a few minutes from the center and easily reachable by car. The guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and offers a complete, accessible and immersive experience to discover the mining history of Cogne without the hike.
